A letter from the coach to incoming freshman:

Hi there, my name is Coach David and me and my coaching team are excited that you have shown interest in the soccer program at Central.  Our intention is to build and maintain a competitive soccer program, while developing great players and people, we want our soccer players to be role models and leaders in and out of the pitch! And we want YOU to be part of the Best Urban Soccer Program of the Twin Cities.

This letter is intended to give you some of the information you will need as you prepare for Central H.S. and playing High School soccer. Central Soccer is a really competitive sport program with a large time commitment for a 3 month period beginning in mid-August and ending in late October. Our players come from all over, from club soccer to recreational soccer and ALL have the same chance at making one of the teams (freshmen, JV or Varsity). In order to get you ready for an intense and fun season we hold a Summer Soccer Training Program beginning in June 12th and until the week before tryouts, this is your best chance at showing us what you can do! We meet every week during the summer (with exception of the no contact week) from 7:00 to 8:30 am from Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; no training sessions on Mondays or Fridays, at McMurray Fields.

On August 13th tryouts begin, from this point on a central soccer player can expect to play 5 or 6 days a week every week until the end of the season in October. We usually have around 120 students come out for tryouts but will only field three teams. We will try to place all interested participants on a team, but in order to keep the rosters of each team manageable we might have to split teams or make cuts as a last resort. The teams will consist of a Varsity, a JV, and a JVB. The JVB is made up of mostly 9th graders.  I am sure you will have many questions; if your questions are not answered by this letter please contact me Coach David at 651-964-8126 or at Also please “like” and follow our facebook page, this is our easiest more accurate way of communication:
