Ms. Halvorson joined the Como Park Elementary team as an Academic Support Teacher in 2021 after teaching 3rd grade for 5 years at a charter school. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire, and then got her K-6 teaching license and Master of Arts in Teaching from Hamline University. 

When not teaching, Ms. Halvorson enjoys walking, reading, paddle boarding, horeseback riding, and soaking in the sun. On the weekends she enjoys movie nights with family and friends andn going to the lake. 

Ms. Halvorson was born and raised in Minneapolis, but fell in love with Saint Paul and moved east of the Mississippi River in 2013. She now works and lives in a suburb of Saint Paul with her family. 

The energy and enthusiasm of the kids’ at Como Park Elementary is the best part of Ms. Halvorson’s job. She values the effort that the entire Como community puts into educating the citizens of tomorrow. Being able to work with students from kindergarten through fifth grade allows Ms. Halvorson the unique opportunity to appreciate all Como Elementary has to offer, and she learns something new every day!
