Ms. Dina's PreK Class at St. Paul Music Academy!

-
Hi PreK Families!
Welcome to Ms. Dina's PreK Class, I am so excited to meet all of you! The most important thing we will learn about first is how our classroom works, who are classmates and teachers are, and what rules we will create to make sure we can all learn and work safely. My goal for this year is to connect with every student and family so that we can partner together to support each child's growth and development as learners, problem solvers, and helpers not only within the classroom community, but at home and beyond. We will also learn all about letters, numbers, science, engineering, and creative arts, while incorporating music throughout our day to support learning and have fun together!
Our wonderful diversity will be celebrated throughout the year with projects that help us learn about each other, the families and communities we live in, and the greater school and communities around us. We will work hard to become a classroom famliy where students' work and ideas are valued and displayed throughout the room, while we learn to work out problems using our PBIS tool kits and finally practice being kind to ourselves and others.

I have been teaching preschoolers for over 28 years, 20 in a Childcare and 6 years as a preschool teacher in and St. Paul and surrounding communities. I grew up in St. Paul and attended school from Head Start through High School, and even earned my first Early Childhood Education Degree at St. Paul College, so our city is near and dear to my heart. I earned my B.S. in Elementary Education from Bemidji University, and also have my Master's Degree in Early Education as well from Hamline. Early Childhood is where I have found my true calling for teaching, and your students are what inspire me to come to work each day with a smile on my face! I look forward to seeing smiles on all of your children's faces as well as we create our caring classroom community together this year and beyond!
