Ms. Kathryn Bartee

Kathryn joins the Wellstone staff this year as an AmeriCorps Math Tutor working with fourth and fifth graders. Although new to Wellstone and the Saint Paul Pubic Schools, Ms. Bartee has worked in the field of education for over 20 years serving as a Special Education paraprofessional and licensed teacher in the west metro with students in all grade levels.

The educator holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music and Anthropology from Macalester College and a Special Education license from Minnesota State University/Mankato.

When not at Wellstone Kathryn enjoys spending time with her family, friends and two dogs (including the attached photo of Dooley; an Australian Cattle Dog mix). The tutor can also be seen participating in taking long walks, biking, tending to her small garden, reading, watching films, listening to music, and knitting.

Ms. Bartee lives in the Frog Town neighborhood of St. Paul. Although she plans to remain in the Twin Cities, she would like to experience extended trips to other cities in the United States and Europe.

A guiding quote that resonates with Kathryn was made famous by The Dalai Lama, “Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.”
