Hi! My name is Jonah Weisbond and I'm the MLL teacher at Obama Elementary. My job is to support English learners (ELs) by developing their English language proficiency, teaching them the language of school (academic language) and collaborating with K-5 classroom teachers to implement strategies that make grade-level curriculum accessible to non-native English speakers. When I'm not at school I like to spend my time traveling, cooking, reading and speaking Spanish. I'm excited for the start of the 2022-23 school year here at Obama. We have a lot of teaching and learning ahead of us but I believe there is no limit to what we can achieve when we work together--teachers, students and families. Go Tigers!!
