I'm Ms. Kaste, the school counselor for grades K-2 at Phalen Lake Hmong Studies. This is my third year with SPPS and my second at Phalen! 

I attended Bemidji State University for my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and received my master’s degree in Counseling and Psychotherapy with an emphasis in School Counseling from Adler Graduate School. I have worked with students and families at the elementary, middle, high school, and alternative high school levels, in general and special education, in community education, and within urban, suburban, and rural school communities. In addition to my work as a school counselor, I support the national Crisis Text Line as a Crisis Counselor. 

I love being a school counselor! In my role, I support and advocate for all students in the domains of social/emotional, academic, and career/college exploration. I work with students individually, in small groups, and in the classroom. I strongly believe in and prioritize establishing authentic partnerships with families and the community.
