Hello 3rd Graders and Family Members!

Welcome to our 2019-2020 School Year.  I am excited to meet you and to start our year. Getting to know each other, our room, and our expectations and routines are what we will concentrate the first few week of school.

There are so many wonderful learning opportunities for you this year.  Some of our highlights will be studying Ancient World History and Maps, learning about the planets, and studying government.  In addition, we will learn basic multiplication and division, imrpove our reading and writing skills, and have our Taiko residency, which is a third grade favorite.

A little information about me:  I have been teaching for more than 16 years in Saint Paul, and at least 10 years at Global Arts Plus.  I speak English and Portuguese as both my mother and my husband are Brazilian.  I have two children who attend Saint Paul Public Schools.  I enjoy exercising, reading, and spending time with my family.  I was a swimmer in my former life and swam on the Brazilian National team.

I hope that you are as excited about this year as I am! It is my hope that you have the best year possible! Remember to dress comfortably and to wear tennis shoes! The room gets hot, so make sure to wear layers that you can take off or put back on if need be. Feel free to call or email me with any questions you may have!

Hi 3rd graders!

I am so excited to be a part of your classroom this year! My name is Megan Aanonsen and I am completing my Masters in Education at the University of Minnesota. As a part of this program I will be student teaching full-time at Global Arts Plus this year. I graduated with my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education Foundations and a minor in Family and Community Engagement this spring, and have one year to go before I will officially be a teacher.

I have lived in St. Paul my whole life and love being a member of this community. In my free time I enjoy being active, watching sports, reading, and spending time with my family and friends. I am looking forward to getting to know you all this year and I appreciate you welcoming me into your school as I grow as a teacher!
