Xf. Pheej is so excited to be a part of the SPPS community. As a former student of EXPO elementary and an alumnus of Arlington Senior High School (now Washington Technology High School), he feels wonderful to be back here in Saint Paul. This will be Xf. Pheej's fifth year as a middle school science teacher and first year with SPPS. The high need for racial and cultural representation has been the catalyst for his desire to pursue a career in urban education. And to come full circle from a former student to now a teacher in the district has been a rewarding experience for Xf. Pheej.

Xf. Pheej graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. And right now, Xf. Pheej is currently in the Master of Education program at Concordia University, Saint Paul, pursuing his Differentiated Instructions degree. 

Outside of his busy life as a teacher, Xf. Pheej enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is a big believer that education is the key to life. So he tries his very best to engage in learning the traditions and cultures of his people. As an educator, Xf. Pheej believes that it is important to shine light on difficult yet much-needed conversations around LBGTQ+, gender-bias roles, mental health, and other topics that the youth today can help set up a world of success for tomorrow. 

On the weekends or breaks, you can see Xf. Pheej jogging, hiking, trying new food, water activities, karaoke, traveling, and, of course, sleeping in!
