Washington Technology Magnet has the National Junior Honor Society and National Honor Society available for its students. Students in 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade are allowed the opportunity to be in the National Junior Honor Society and students in 10th, 11th and 12th grade are allowed the opportunity to be in the National Honor Society. To be accepted into either society, students must have the following:
- Cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher
- Participate in the following:
- Co-curricular Activities
- Leadership Positions
- Volunteer in the following:
- Service Activities (not for family or money)
- Other Community Activities (outside of school)
Once accepted into either the National Junior Honor Society or National Honor Society, students must complete the following:
See requirements document below.
Students remain in the National Junior Honor Society though 9th grade as along as they maintain their cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher and participate in the group service projects. If a student’s cumulative GPA drops below 3.75 they will be put on probation. If the student can’t raise their cumulative GPA they will be removed from the National Junior Honor Society. Once students are in 10th grade they will need to meet the cumulative GPA requirement for the National Honor Society and then apply to get in. Students in National Junior Honor Society do not automatically get accepted into the National Honor Society.
Students remain in the National Honor Society though 12th grade as along as they maintain their cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher, participate in the group service projects and complete an individual service project. If a student’s cumulative GPA drops below 3.75 they will be put on probation. If the student can’t raise their cumulative GPA they will be removed from the National Honor Society.
