Degrees and Certifications:
BA from Hamline University 2008: Spanish ESL licensure from Hamline University 2012 MAT from Hamline University 2016
Hello! My name is Jessica Reese and I have been teaching in Saint Paul Public Schools since 2014.
I graduated from Hopkins High School in 2004 and received my B.A. from Hamline University in Spanish (major) and art history (minor) in 2008. From 2008-2009, I taught English in South Korea for a year in Suji-gu, Yongin. After returning to the United States, work in Minneapolis called to me via City of Lakes AmeriCorps where I tutored/mentored fourth graders on the North side. In 2010, I started my MAT at Hamline University and received my initial ESL licensure in winter of 2012. As a long-term substitute in Hopkins Public Schools, I taught ESL in two elementary schools. In the summer of 2014, I joined SPPS as a summer school ESL teacher of science at Harding High School and started at Murray in the fall. In the summer of 2016, I completed my Master's Degree at Hamline.
Outside of school, I will be coaching girls' soccer and leading anime club after school. I have two pug dogs (Rufus and Maggie) that love to come watch our soccer games. When I am relaxing, I love reading manga, watching anime, or playing Zelda. I am excited and looking forward to a great year!
