Mrs. Jones
Mrs. Stacie Jones is extremely proud to be an Assistant Principal at Washington Technology Magnet School. She has served St. Paul Public Schools as an employee for over twenty years. Her career with SPPS began as a K-6 Science Specialist, after two years of teaching Science she became a sixth grade classroom teacher at The Heights Community School formerly known as Hayden Heights Elementary School. She was a fifth grade teacher at Benjamin E. Mays for a couple of years and then made a transition and became a Title 1 Intervention Specialist at Museum Magnet School. Once she completed her K-12 Prinicpal License from St. Mary's University, Twin Cities, MN she decided to leave the elementary world and gain some experience at the secondary level. She was fortunate enough to land a spot at Humboldt Senior High School as a Literacy Coach. From Humboldt she traveled to Como Senior High School to be an administrative intern and is currently an Assistant Principal at Washington Technology Magnet School.
Mrs. Jones is a second generation graduate of St. Paul Public Schools, her mother, uncle and aunt all graduated from Murray back when it was a high school. She was fortunate to be able to attend St. Anthony Park Elementary School, Murray Junior High and then graduated from Central High School. After graduation she headed to St. Cloud State University in Minnesota where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a Minor is Minority Studies. After finishing college she moved back "home" to St. Paul and was extremely excited to be contracted as a SPPS teacher . Within two years of her teaching career she returned to college and earned a Master's Degree in Education and a K-12 Principal License through St. Mary's University in the Twin Cities. Looking for another opportunity to strengthen her leadershiop skills Ms. Jones returned to St. Mary's Univeristy in 2006 and earned an Education Specialist Degree. Special interests include Literacy development, College and Career Readiness, AVID, curriculum planning and helping to make sure all students succeed academically, socially and emotionally. When she is not at work she loves to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoys reading, a good movie at the theater (with popcorn of course), long walks and cooking.
