Parent Academy

  • NOW is the time to prepare for your student’s future!

    Parent Academy is a free program for parents/guardians to learn how to help their child be successful while at Harding High School and on the path to a career or college of their choice upon graduating.  

    This year there will be 2 sessions -- each year the topics change so don't wait until next year. For more information contact Pong Vang @ 651-744-3223 or pong.vang@spps.org.

    A light meal is served from 5:30pm - 6:00pm  and sessions run from 6:00-8:30pm. In addition to a light meal, transportation and childcare are provided to families that register. Parent Academy will be held on Tuesday nights at Harding Senior High School.  

    Sessions will be on the following dates and topics:

    • October 24, 2017 (Tuesday, 5:30 - 8:30 pm)
      Being an Effective Advoate for Your Child's Education -- tips and strategies for being an effective advocate for their child's education in Saint Paul Public Schools. We will discuss one-on-one meetings, school-level leadership, and district opportunities for parent voice. 

    • November 14, 2017 (Tuesday, 5:30 - 8:30 pm)
      Developing an Academic Plan.  This seminar helps families recognize the importance of developing an academic plan to prepare them for college readiness.

    Register as soon as possible as space is limited. We will offer Parent Academy in English, Hmong, Spanish, and Karen.
