Welcome to Wellstone Elementary! 

At our school, every child is embraced as a unique individual. Teachers work hard to individualize instruction and meet the needs of all students both academically and socially. Families can choose English only instruction or the dual immersion Spanish program where all students are learning the content in two languages, Spanish and English. We strive for all students to be proficient in academic language so that they can express their knowledge, opinions, and creative ideas to the community. As we support our students in their learning, I'd like to remind families of a couple of important things:

Please let your child's teacher know the transportation plan ahead of time:

1. If s/he is riding a bus and if so, ensure that your child wears a bus tag on the backpack everyday (label with name, school, bus route and phone number).
2. If she/he will be getting picked up and by whom. 

Please keep open communication with your child's teachers. If you have a question or concern, please call. Do not wait.

¡Bienvenidos a la escuela primaria Wellstone!

En nuestra escuela apreciamos cada niño como individuo único. Los maestros trabajan duros para individualizar instrucciones y apoyar las necesidades sociales y académicos de todos estudiantes. Las familias pueden escoger clases de inglés o clases de doble inmersión en español, en donde los estudiantes aprenden en español e inglés. Queremos que todos los estudiantes son proficientes en lenguaje académico para que puedan expresar sus pensamientos, conocimientos, opiniones, e ideas a la comunidad. Para apoyar a nuestros estudiantes en su aprendizaje, me gustaría recordar las familias de algunas cosas:

Favor de avisar el maestro de su estudiante de su plan de transporte en avance:

1. Si él o ella va a tomar el bus, cuál será y cuál es su parada.
2. Si alguien va a recoger su estudiante y quien es. 

Favor de mantener comunicacion abierta con los maestros de sus estudiantes. Si usted tiene una pregunta o duda, favor de llamar. No esperas.
