Harding High School students are required to complete four years of English courses. In the 9th and 10th grade course, students develop the fundamental reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills necessary for success in upper level literature courses. Upper level literature courses include American and World Literature, as well as the opportunity to select courses in Shakespeare, Children’s Literature, and Love and Literature. Other upper level courses options include Debate, Creative Writing, and Film Studies. All Harding High School English courses aim to familiarize students with multiple genres of literature, and provide ample opportunity to write for a variety of purposes and audiences.
