  • American Indian Studies has a number of activities available for Harding students.
    Braided Journeys (After School Progam)
    Tuesdays & Wednesdays: Tutoring, study and learning space, 2:15 pm -3:30 pm, Room 1425
    Thursdays: Cultural Activities, 2:15 pm - 3:30 pm, Room 1425

    Lakota Drum Group
    Thursdays, 2:10 pm -3:30 pm, Room 1411
    Sponsored by Barry Frantum
    Lakota Language teacher Barry Frantum leads this group for young men and women who are interested in learning to sing at the powwow drum. Students will perform in at least 3 events each year, such as the Indian Ed Youth Honoring, and Indian Ed Senior Recognition. 
    Ojibwe and Lakota Quiz Bowl Teams
    Tuesdays, 2:15 - 3:30 pm, Rooms 1425 & 1411
    Sponsored by Stephanie Schroeder and Barry Frantum
    Top Ojibwe and Lakota Language students are invited to join the quiz bowl teams. There are regional competitions for each of the teams.
    *Students should confirm activity days with the sponsors.

4th Annual Oyate Language Bowl

  • This year's Oyate Language Bowl will be on April 28th, 2018

    Join us!  All students, parents, and community are welcome to attend.  There will be a Wacipi (powwow) the night before, Friday, April 27th.

    Hosted by Harding American Indian Studies Program and the University of Minnesota.
