Degrees and Certifications:
My family and I live in the country near Big Marine Lake about 30 miles northeast of Saint Paul. My wife, Carrie, and I met while she was volunteering at my school many years ago. We have two children; our daughter's name is Francie, and our son's name is Tallen. We also have two dogs Hank, and Roxie. Some of my hobbies include Hiking, Hunting, Fishing (Ice), Camping, Motorcycling, Mt. Biking, and walking the dogs with the family. I am a huge Vikings fan! I have degrees from Vermilion Community College and Bemidji State University for both undergraduate and graduate. My career begin in 1999 at Roosevelt Elementary School in St. Paul. I have taught 3rd grade, 4th grade and have been both a Science Specialist, and Social Studies Specialist. I have been with Croosroads since the fall of 2009. The year round schedule and the diversity of the students, staff and a great principal is why I teach at Crossroads.
You can expect your child to get homework Monday - Thursday. Students will need to read at least 20 minutes and complete their math, social studies, and spelling on those days. I want to keep their homework under an hour. Please be sure to check your child's Avid planner to see what homework is due and don't forget to sign their planner on those days.
What's Happening with Team Gregor
As we begin the year we will be spending a lot of time building community and teamwork. We do this through our morning meetings and structured recess. This is the most important time of the year. We are doing activities that involves everyone trying to get to know one another. We are also learning the expectations of the class and I will be doing a lot of modeling, Y-charts (how it should should look, sound and feel). We are also working on the C.A.R.E.S which is an acronym for Cooperation, Assertion, Respect, Empathy, and Self-Control.
