Hello! My name is Cassie Heeringa and I will be your child’s teacher this year. The children refer to me as Ms. Cassie.  I am excited to begin a new school year with you and your child here at Crossroads Montessori!

I received a BA in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education from Bethel University. I've been teaching in St. Paul Public Schools and Crossroads since 2015.  Before coming to Crossroads I taught 1^st grade for three years in Rifle, Colorado and then moved to Utah where I taught 1^st grade for two years, 2^nd grade for one year, and kindergarten for one year.  My husband and I moved back to the Midwest when we were ready to begin starting our own family.

I was first introduced to Montessori when coming to Crossroads. I immediately fell in love with the beautiful environment and the opportunities given to such young children in a classroom that encouraged independence and welcomed a wide range of learning styles. I decided to pursue Montessori certifcation at the University of Wisconsin River Falls where I received my Masters degree in Early Childhood Montessori Education.
