Ms. Elizabeth (Beth) Brzinski
Welcome Families!
Welcome to Capitol Hill and welcome to Ms. Brzinski's class, "Room 1514"!! Although the kiddos and I will not be in our classroom for now, we will still all do our very best to connect and learn together, while separate.
Here is a little bit of personal and background information about me. : ) I grew up in Maplewood, and earned my undergraduate degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Go Badgers!). I earned my master's degree from Saint Mary's University in Winona, MN. Prior to coming to Capitol Hill in 2008, I taught 15 years at Cherokee Heights Elementary on the West Side. I come from a family of educators, many of whom taught in St. Paul. I am very grateful to be a second generation St. Paul teacher, and be able to spend this year with all of you.
My husband's name is Darren, and I have two adult step-children and two grandsons (ages 10 and 2). We also have FOUR fur babies living at home, our cats; Elvis, Millie, Gracie, and GusGus. I love spending time with our grandsons, motorcycling (passenger :), kayaking, traveling, cats, coffee, dark chocolate, and planting in the spring.
I had a summer full of ups and downs with a few adventures mixed in. We were able to follow through with two travel plans, one to the Boundary Waters in June where I caught my first walleye in a long time (well, a keeper anyway)! We also led a family/friend motorcycle adventure through parts of Montana and Idaho in August. I am now ready to begin the new school year!!!
I look forward to meeting all of my new students and their families, on screen for now, and in person some day. I am confident we will have a spectacular year of learning together, even with its potential bumps and bruises. I am committed to doing my best to make this year as clear, thoughtful, joyful, and engaging as possible!
In partnership...
