She loves using technology in her classroom and in all subject areas to help engage students and provide multiple modalitiies for students to show what they have learned. She also believes that students need to learn to work independently as well as collaboratively and this is reflected in her classroom and her ability to develop an engaged community of student learners. She provides a rigorous academic environment but supports students so they can achieve at every level. Ms. Halvorson also believes that growth mindset and leadership skills are integral in student learning and achievement and works with her student on many activities in the community to develop leadership skills in her students.
