Mrs. Michelle Odeen
Mrs. Michelle Odeen began teaching in Saint Paul Public Schools at Como Park Elementary in 1995. She has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and she also hold a Master of Education degree from the University of St. Katherine. While at Como Park Elementary, Mrs. Odeen has taught 3rd and 4th grade as a classroom teacher, she has also taught 6th grade math, Kindergarten technology classes, PreK and 1st grade Math Plus classes, and numerous small groups for math and technology enrichment. As the Technology Coordinator for a number of years, Mrs. Odeen has been instrumental in keeping Como moving forward so all staff and students have access to and skills for the latet technology. As the Math Coach, she has helped teachers to grow their own math knowledge and taught them strategies to use with students in their classrooms. Now as the Learning Lead, she continues coaching teachers in math and technology and has become the link to learning about district initiatives and put them into action at Como.
When not at Como Park Elementary, Mrs. Odeen enjoys fishing, boating, reading, gardening, and cooking. She also enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering at her church.
While born in Anchorage, Alaska, Mrs. Odeen has lived in Minnesota most of her life. She grew up near Como Golf Course and now lives in the North End neighborhood of St. Paul. She is married and has 3 adult children. While she thoroughly enjoyed raising children, she is also extremely proud to see the successful adults they have become.
Having been at Como Park Elementary her entire teaching career, she is in a unique position to keep moving things forward. With the help of a very committed staff, Como is always accomplishing great things. She is looking forward to what will happen next!
