Open World Learning Community PTO
Welcome to Open School’s PTO organization!
The Open World Learning Community (OWL) Parent Teacher Organization is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to enhance and support the educational experience for all students, families and staff at Open World Learning Community by:
- Building and sustaining a strong school community by encouraging and facilitating parent/guardian, student and staff involvement in OWL activities.
- To enhance the learning environment of OWL through volunteer and financial support of educational special programs, services and facilities NOT covered by the school budget
- To raise funds and promote participation in school activities that benefit OWL students
OWL PTO volunteers strengthen the extended OWL community through relationship building events. They support the OWL learning community by fundraising for Fall Retreats, Spring Interim, and Program Grants via GiveMN and a direct appeal; spiritwear, coffee and theater concession sales; the Raffle-O-Rama and other gatherings that both bring people together and raise funds as well.
We look forward to having you join us!
Membership and Meetings: The OWL PTO welcomes all parents, guardians, teachers and staff to our meetings and everyone present is a voting member. The OWL PTO meets on the second Tuesday of certain months (see belwo), at 7:00 PM, following site council.
We asked, you answered! Last year’s survey results pointed us in a new direction: more social/educational gatherings, working meetings with participation from all, fewer meetings overall.
