Welcome to my homepage! I am Terri Steen and teach Health Education and Stress Management at Harding High School. I am currently in my 19th year of teaching health and physical education. I also teach in the Career Pathway program-Medical Careers/Certified Nursing Assistant at Saint Paul College.
I grew up in Raymond, Minnesota but I now live in Northwest Minneapolis with my partner, Ron. I graduated from North Dakota State University with a degree in Corporate and Community Fitness; received my Masters in Exercise Physiology from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA and my k-12 Health/PE license from the University of St. Thomas. I also have certifications in Adaptive PE, k-12 Reading and Medical Careers. Currently, I am working toward my administrative license through Hamline University.
My other hat I wear for the district is the Program Manager for k-12 Health and Physical Education out of the Office of Teaching and Learning. Outside of SPPS, I am an adjunct instructor with Hamline University in the Teacher Ed. program teaching methods courses in Health and love working at a little local clothing boutique.
We have three four-legged kids...our pup is a chocoate Lab named River, and we have 2 Maine Coon cats--Andi and Matt. I am an avid Minnesota Sports fan and love the color purple (GO VIKES!)! We love to be outdoors biking, kayaking, hiking with River, and enjoy traveling, small venue concerts, a trying new restaurants.
I feel very fortunate to be an educator at fabulous Harding High School and strive to inspire my students to become happy, healthy and productive members of society.
Feel free to connect with me anytime!
