Ms. Nancy Boos
"Childhood should be a journey, not a race."
Hello and Welcome to 1st Grade! My name is Nancy Boos.
I grew up on the east side of St. Paul, near Lake Phalen. I attended school at Farnsworth, Cleveland, and Johnson. I graduated with my masters from the University of Minnesota. I guess you can say I'm "Home Grown!" Horace Mann has been my teaching home for the last 12 years. First grade is an exciting time and a year of significant growth and change. It's my pleasure and delight to be working with first graders every day.
I live with my husband, Dan. We are a family of five. Our oldest daughter, Abby, is also a first grade teacher. I love to talk "shop" with her. Our second daughter, Carly, lives in Los Angeles and works for a non-profit organization. She has the biggest heart! Louie is a senior at Mankato State. He loves to snowboard in the winter and wakeboard in the summer. We also have one dog (Jefferson). He was born on the fourth of July.
We have a cabin in Hackensack, Minnesota. I've been traveling to northern Minnesota since I was born. Loons are part of the northern landscape and have always fascinated me. This summer I saw an actual loon party - 19 loons, having loads of fun!
First grade is a big year, and your children will learn a lot, but we'll be having loads of fun too!
Please feel free to contact me at anytime.
