Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Schaefer

My name is Ms Schaefer.

I have been an ELL  and classroom teacher in St. Paul Schools since 1996.  I have taught most grade levels as an ELL teacher.  I taught 2nd grade for several years and am in my third year as a 1st grade teacher.
As a mother, grandmother and teacher, my teaching is guided by the collaborative effort of parent, teacher and child.  Communication is the key to enable learning opportunities that meet your child's need.
Community building in the classroom every day is a valuable tool to prepare children for the world.  We can learn together.  We can make mistakes and fix them.  We can ask for help and help others.
Cooperation, Assertion, Responsibility, Empathy, and Respect (CARES) is a centerpiece of the Groveland school community.
I am a graduate of St. Cloud State University and have a master's degree  at Hamline University.
My daughter and family live on the east coast, and my son and family live here in the metropolitan area.
I have a long list of hobbies and activities and not enough time to do them!  Usually I am reading,  gardening, bike riding, hiking and camping.  I love going to concerts with a variety of music genres.
The best way to reach me is through my email.  I will get back to you as quickly as possible.
