Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Mary Elliott
I've been a teacher in St. Paul Schools for seventeen years. In the 2017/18 school year, I am co-teaching in first grade as well as teaching in all kindergarten and second grade classrooms.
I am a life-long learner, having finished two Master's degrees, one in education from the University of Minnesota and the other in applied linguistics from Hamline University. (I also have a B.A. in sociology.) I love to travel and have been to England, Wales, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, and Italy, and have traveled through the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Belgium. I've also scuba-dived in the Caribbean. I enjoy reading, gardening, walking, and knitting. I find word games especially engaging.
Working with English language learners is very absorbing and I am constantly looking for innovative ways to improve my teaching and their learning.
