Ms. Lori Seastrand

Ms. Seastrand has been teaching at John A. Johnson Achievement Plus Elementary since 2014 and began her teaching career back in 1992.  In addition to teaching English Learning (EL) at JAJ, Ms. Seastrand has also taught at Groveland Park Elementary in SPPS.  Ms. Sea's various teaching experiences at Groveland include teaching Hmong refugee students in the K-2 TLC (Transitional Language Center), teaching Title 1 to K-6th graders, and teaching both First Grade and Kindergarten.  Other teaching experiences include teaching EL in both Minneapolis and Columbia Heights school districts.

Ms. Seastrand graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education (K-6).  She obtained her EL/ESL license (K-12) and Master's of Education with an EL/ESL emphasis from Hamline University.

In her free time, Ms. Seastrand enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.  She loves running around the lakes, reading, singing, listening to live music, and traveling.  Some favorite vacation destinations are southern California where Ms. Sea's brother and family live, Ireland, and Italy.

Ms. Seastrand grew up in Menomonie, Wisconsin and currently lives in Lakeville, MN with her husband, Mike, and stepchildren.

Ms. Seastrand is passionate about teaching and truly enjoys being a part of the JAJ community.
