Ms. Mary Engelun
Ms. Engelun has been at Humboldt since 2012. She received her B.A. in Sociology and her 5-12 teaching license in Social Studies from St. Catherine University in 2006 and her K-12 ESL Teaching license from Hamline University in 2009. She acheived her Master in English as a Second Language from Hamline University in 2018. She has taught in both the ELL and Social Studies departments at Humboldt and has taught all grade levels. For the 2021-2022 school year she will be teaching World History 9, AP World History and Psychology.
Outside of school, Ms. Engelun enjoys many hobbies and activities. Her favorite activities are hiking, swimming, and traveling. She spends time planting trees, bushes and pollinator friendly gardens in her yard. When the weather is cold, she does creative activities like painting and sewing for fun.
Ms. Engelun has lived in Saint Paul and the surrounding area since 2001. She lives with her husband, daughter, son and two cats, one dog, one hamster and three goldfish. The number of pets in her home is likely to increase since she and her family are animal lovers.
Ms. Engelun has enjoyed teaching at Humboldt these past 9 years. She values the relationships she is able to build with students and staff. She is looking forward to another great school year.
