As a teacher, providing students choice with in the structure of MN Art standards is my guiding principle so that each child may build upon their prior experience while exploring layered art ideas and concepts. Personally, I am an analyzer. With student input, we take projects apart, investigating the underlying concepts so those concepts may be investigated in other contexts such as science or social studies.

Assignments and grading are in SCHOOLOGY discussions so students may share and dialog about projects and concept critiques. Parents may access SCHOOLOGY through PARENT PORTAL. Go to spps.org/onestop to log into your Parent SCHOOLOGY account. Please telephone Como Park Senior High Main Office @ 651-293-8800 for your personal login information.

In Beginning Ceramics, students learn about & practice compression and attachment of clay to investigate various clay forming methods. Beginning classes make a formal dinner place setting honoring a guest with their forms and surface design.

In this time of great change, color transparency glow grabs attention and can restore hope. I seek to paint colors that communicate meaning the way light streaming through stained glass windows illustrates story. In both painting snd Ceramics, I investigate narrative structure from different cultures
