I highly recommend downloading SCRATCH - it's a computer programming software (works on both Mac and PC).  Kids can make their own games, animations, simulations, multi-media projects, etc.  This is totally FREE - created by the extraordinary minds at MIT.  Our students are introduced to it as early as 2nd grade.
