Degrees and Certifications:
Hi everyone! Here is a little bit about me. I have been teaching at the American Indian Magnet since 1997. I spent 16 years teaching 6th grade, and moved to 5th grade in 2015. I received my Bachelors Degree from Hamline University in 1996. I earned a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Southwest State University in 2001.
I live in Blaine with my wife Meredith and my three sons, Jake, Henry and Sam. I enjoy the outdoors, and spend time hunting and fishing many weekends. I grew up in a small town in central Minnesota, and travel back there often to go camping. On weekends, you will often find me outside coaching football or baseball or just working in my garden.
I really enjoy teaching fifth grade because the students have a great sense of humor and always keep my job interesting. I like to read new books that I know my students will enjoy. My favorite subject to teach is math because I think it is exciting when the students learn something new. I really enjoy teaching at AIMS, and can't imagine teaching anywhere else!
