Hello Parkway Families!
When I made the choice to complete my student teaching experience in a middle school in St. Paul, I found my passion and what I consider to be my calling. I love working with youth at the middle school level because I appreciate the tremendous personal growth and development that occurs during these years. While middle school years can also be filled with messiness and sometimes with mistakes, I find true joy in guiding youth through some of that messiness and those mistakes in order to support their independence.
As the 2017-18 school year marks my thirteenth year working with middle school youth in St. Paul Public Schools, I was given an opportunity to take on the role of the Restorative Practices Lead at Parkway. Prior to this year, I taught English Language Arts and have been at Parkway since we opened in 2013. This year, as the Restorative Practices Lead, I am able to fully support students as well as staff in building community and fostering relationships as we begin our journey into restorative practices.
I am excited to begin a new experience this year and am grateful for your trust in choosing Parkway Montessori to be part of your student’s development and education.
