This is my first year at Washington Technology Magnet, but my 22nd year with Saint Paul Public Schools. I began my first two years of college at Minnesota State University, Moorhead studying graphic communications, but my undergraduate degree in English/Language Arts is from Minnesota State University, Mankato. My master's degree in education with reading endorsement is from Concordia University, Saint Paul. I have my Secondary Montessori certification from CMStep in Cincinnati in partnership with the University of Wisconsin at River Falls.
I am currently teaching Technology Integration, which is an elective course. In Technology Integration, students learn different ways to show their learning that are more innnovative than traditional essays/short stories and Powerpoint presentations. Students become tech savvy in using the Google Suite as well as using green screen technology and coding.
Projects for Technology Integration include:
*Making EFFECTIVE internet searches
*Finding and using media according to licensing guidelines (no stealing copyrighted materials)
*Comparing products to make wise choices and writing product reviews
*Choose Your Own Adventure Stories in Google Slides
*Stop motion animations in Google Slides
*Basic functions and formulas in Google Sheets
*Coding with Code.org, Sphero robots, and other coding apps
*Green screen videos and pictures
*Webpage design both beginner (Google Sites) and advanced (using HTML)
