This is my second year at Washington Technology Magnet, but my 23rd year with Saint Paul Public Schools. I began my first two years of college at Minnesota State University, Moorhead studying graphic communications, but my undergraduate degree in English/Language Arts is from Minnesota State University, Mankato. My master's degree in education with reading endorsement is from Concordia University, Saint Paul. I have my Secondary Montessori certification from CMStep in Cincinnati in partnership with the University of Wisconsin at River Falls. I am currently teaching Technology Integration for 6th grade and Middle School Computer Science, which are elective courses

Technology Integration grade 6

In Technology Integration, students learn different ways to show their learning that are more innnovative than traditional essays/short stories and slideshow presentations. Students become tech savvy in using the Google Suite and Canva. Students will also get an introduction to coding.

Middle School Computer Science

Students in 7th and 8th grade will be futhering explorations in alternatives to traditional assessments. They will get to explore web design with Google Sites, as well as using green screen technology and coding.

 

Projects for Technology Integration include:

*Making EFFECTIVE internet searches

*Finding and using media according to licensing guidelines (no stealing copyrighted materials)

*Comparing products to make wise choices and writing product reviews

*Choose Your Own Adventure Stories in Google Slides

*Stop motion animations in Google Slides

*Web design with Google Sites

*Green Screen videos with Veescope and iMovie

*Coding Sphero robots for mazes
