Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Deb Walden
Deb began teaching at Parkway Montessori in the fall of 2015. She has a degree in anthropology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a masters degree in education from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Deb has taught all of the different middle school science classes during her career.
When not at school, and not working hard on school-related tasks, Deb loves to hang out with her family (which includes her husband, dog, two cats, and guinea pig). She is an avid reader and enjoys a wide range of books from non-fiction, sci-fi, thriller, mystery and YA. Deb also enjoys knitting, going for walks and enjoying all of the amazing opportunities available in the Twin Cities.
Deb and her family live in the Highwood Hills area of St. Paul. They love the cozy atmosphere of their neighborhood. They are also in the process of adopting a little girl from India. It has been a long and oftentimes frustrating process but Deb and her husband cannot wait to fly to India and bring home their new daughter. Hopefully it will happen by the summer of 2019!
Working at Parkway has been a fulfilling job for Deb in ways that are hard to describe. The students at Parkway are unique and sometimes challenging but they also bring an unlimited amount of joy and exuberance and a fascination of discovering new things.
