Programs and Services
We offer an array of programs and services for students.
Our school offers AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination). AVID's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.
Early Childhood Family Education
Battle Creek Elementary and Saint Paul Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) offer parent and early childhood education for families with children between birth and kindergarten age.
Minnesota Reading Corp
Battle Creek offers the Minnesota Reading Corp program. Reading Corps members receive training from well-respected literacy experts in Minnesota. They provide the knowledge and tools members need to be effective and feel confident in their ability to help children master literacy skills. Members work with Kindergarten — 3rd grade students one-on-one daily.
PBIS Behavioral Model
At Battle Creek Elementary, we expect that everyone will conduct themselves with courtesy and respect. Every student and employee at Battle Creek is entitled to learn and work in a safe school environment. To ensure this, the school has established a clear student discipline policy, consequences appropriate with the behavior, and practices to consistently apply the policy.
Out of School Time Collaborative
We offer Out of School Time for students in grades K-5. The program teams up with local organizations to provide enrichment classes, as well as Extended Day Learning. The program is free for students.
