About the Teacher
Degrees and Certifications:
Hello! Nyob Zoo!
I am Va Lor. I am also known as Ms. Va, Ms. Lor, or Ms. V around the school. I graduated from College of Saint Benedict in 2016. After graduation, I spent a year of service with AmeriCorps through City of Lakes in Northeast Minneapolis. During my service, I worked with a handful of long-term English language learners to make progress in their academic writing and speaking. After contemplating for a while, I decided that it was time to really have my own art class. That is how I found Chelsea Heights.
I come from a big family and currently reside in Eastside Saint Paul. One fun fact that I would like to share is that I speak four different language; I speak English, Hmong, Chinese, and Thai. However, I can only have basic conversations in Chinese and Thai. Some of things I enjoy on my free time is drawing with pastels, learning a new vocab in a different language, and working out. I am also learning how to snowboard. (If there are any tips, let me know!)
I growing and learning as a first year teacher. During my time here at Chelsea Heights, I am looking forward to discovering the students’ skills and interest in art. Some artworks that we will touch base on for this year will vary from line design, painting, papermaking, and printmaking.
