Cherokee's Community Partners

  • Cherokee Heights is very lucky to have wonderful community partners to help make our students and families successful.

Page Scholars: College Students earn scholarships while completing service hours volunteering in educational settings. Our scholars work with the mentoring program.

AVID: To ensure that ALL students:

    • will succeed in rigorous curriculum,
    • will complete a rigorous college preparatory path,
    • will enter mainstream activities of the school,
    • will increase their enrollment in four-year colleges, and
    • will become educated and responsible participants and leaders in a democratic society.

Minnesota Reading Corps: Reading Corps members are trained to work with kindergarten through third grade on early literacy or reading skills using research-based intervention techniques targeting phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency.

Cherokee Bank: Provided Cherokee Heights students with gloves, hats, mittens, and scarves with their annual mitten drive during Christmas time.
