Hi! Welcome to Speech and Language!
Degrees and Certifications:
B.A in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences M.S in Speech Language Pathology
Hi! I am Ms. Carrie and I have been the Speech-Language Pathologist at Cherokee Heights since 2014. I graduated with my undergraduate degree in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2012 and then went on to receive my graduate degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2014. I strongly believe that each of our students have their own unique voice and my intention as the SLP is to provide individualized goals and plans to encourage those voices to grow. I have experience in working with a vast range of speech and language impairments including: phonological and articulation disorders, stuttering, voice, expressive and receptive language disabilities, augmentative and assisstive communication as well as working with students with various developmental or cognitive disabilities. I hold a great passion for learning more about the latest advancements within my field as well as about our students and how to best support them in their speech and language journeys. I enjoy collaborating with families, teachers and students in order to grow effective communicators here, at Cherokee Heights!
Outside of Cherokee, I love spending time with my husband, family members and friends. I also have a great interest in cooking, traveling, exploring and listening to music and will typically use my experiences to better connect with my students!
Please feel free to stop me in the hallways, call or email with any questions at any time!
