Welcome to Mr. Matuzak's class!! It's 2021 and we are back in the classroom! It feels a bit weird starting a year in September since 2019.
This is my 24th year of teaching! WOW! I've been teaching here at Chelsea for 14 years!
I have three wonderful kids!
Ryan, my 22 year old son (I know... how can I possibly have a 22 year old?.. thanks!) He lives in Plymouth and has a puppy name Ginny and a cat named Pita. He works as a tattoo artist and at a manufaturing company in Eden Prairie. He is heading back to the U of M this fall to complete his Architecture degree. He also drums with me in the Minnesota Viking's Skol Line, which I am quite proud about!
My 19 year old son, Sam, is going to Bemidji state for his 2nd year of college. After doing online learning the beginnig of last year, and getting on campus the second part of the year, only to be in his dorm doing his online work, we are excited that he is actually on campus and feeling the excitement of college learning.
My 17 year old High School senior, Kayla, plays both varsity hockey and soccer at SSP and is a captain of both. She also plays soccer for the Salvo soccer club at the premier level as goalkeeper. Her plans are to be a student-athlete at Concordia St. Paul where she will continue playing soccer at the D2 level.
My wife, Mrs. Matuzak, got a promotion this past summer, and is an area trainer for apartment complexes throughout the cities. She is now in charge of trainging all aspects of her company. She is using her teaching and tech tools to make sure that everyone is following the policies the same. She keeps me on my toes and is a great mom to our three kids.
We have 2 dogs, Charlotte and Dakota. Dakota is a wild one, since she is a year old. Charlotte is 6 and isn't too much of a fan of Dakota when she gets rowdy.
With drumming, drumcorps, music, soccer, hockey, college, and life... what could I possibly add to my life?
I am a member of the Minnesota Vikings Skol Line! I've been a part of this for the past 14 years, and am fortunate enough to play the big drum for the SKOL CHANT prior to the game. It's amazing to have 65,000 people yell "SKOL!" after I hit the drum! I'm looking forward to starting another year here at Chelsea. This year will be a new experience for us all, but I know that we can do it and accomplish a lot!!
I am looking forward to getting back into the classroom this fall. I am encouraged that we will all do our best to stay healthy and in the classroom.
