Hello 4th Grade Parents,
I am pleased to have your child in my class this year. We will learn so much together as a community of learners!
Expectations for all students:
*We use a homework notebook to write down assignments and other activities so that the students are organized. We write in our notebooks at the end of each day. This way parents can check to see the assigned homework or communicate with me.
*The students should read nightly for 20 minutes and write about what they read for approximately 10 minutes. Your child should be able to produce a good paragraph in the homework notebook to share with you.
*Memorize multiplication facts by using the fact triangles (similar to flash cards) or going to math websites would help a great deal. Automatically knowing the facts would make other math tasks much easier for the student.
*Also, we focus on spelling words and understanding patterns and rules. There may be times when I send home other work for different subjects to be completed as needed. Typically, homework should not take more than 45 minutes.
Feel free to call me regarding any concerns you or your child may have during the year. You may reach me at school by dialing 651-293-8870. The best time to call is before school from 8:15 - 9:00 or after school from 4:15 - 4:45. If you call at other times and I am not able to answer, you may leave a message and I will get back to you.
