Degrees and Certifications:
Hello, my name is Cindy Thrasher. I am the Pilot One-on-One Program coordinator at Murray. This program provides academic support to students through the many adult tutors that volunteer their time at school. We have about 70 tutors join us each week. It is exciting for all of us in the program to have the opportunity to work with these exceptional students!
I am a Murray High School graduate! This school was both a junior and senior high for many years. My three aunts, three siblings, three nephews and my three children all attended Murray. It was and continues to be a very special place for me.
My bachelor’s degree in Education is from Concordia College in the very windy town of Moorhead, MN. After graduation, I began teaching 4th grade. Then I sold computers for a very short period of time to people and didn’t really know much about them! Following that I got involved with writing training materials and delivering the training for an accounting firm called Deloitte, Haskins and Sells where I had the opportunity to work in New York City. Later I did freelance training in a variety of businesses in the Twin Cities for 15 years. So I’ve had the chance to work with both children and adults in my career. My greatest joy has been working with students and their families in the Pilot One-on-One Program for the last nine years!
My husband and I have been married for 30 years. We are proud parents of our three adult children. We enjoy summers at the cabin in Wisconsin and hiking in the beautiful Montana mountains where my husband grew up. I love to travel, read, drink coffee and spend time with family and friends.
