Mrs. Johansen, Aerospace and Engineering, Enrichment

I enjoy teaching Aerospace and Engineering for all students at Farnsworth PreK-4. I received my degree in elementary education from Concordia College,St. Paul MN. My previous experiences include working as a science resource person and writng a "hands on" Aerospace Kit for elementary students in another district. I have worked for the Science Museum of Minnesota teaching Aerospace classes for students. Recieving an award from the museum was very exciting. I  have also taught Aerospace classes throughout the metro area for children, sponsored by MNDOT, the Aeronauiics Division. I received the NEWEST Award from NASA and was thrilled to attend classes for teaching aerospace to students at The John Glenn Center in Cleveland Ohio. I have also participated in many Aerospace Conferences and I continue to take online classes from NASA. I attended a class at St. Cloud State University for teaching engineering, provided by Project Lead the Way. For the past eight summers, I have enjoyed being a presenter for a "hands on" Aviation/Aerospace class for teachers sponsored by MNDOT. Aerospace and Engineering will always be exciting to share with students as it involves the discovery of the future.
