Amy Lopez, Speech-Language Pathologist
Hello students and families,
My name is Amy Lopez and I am the speech-language pathologist at Farnsworth Aerospace PreK-4. This is my fifth year of practice and my second year at Farnsworth. I absolutely love my job! It is so exciting to see our students grow and make progress from week to week. It's even more exciting to see their love for learning. Each student is perfectly unique with their own strengths, talents and experiences. My job is to help them build on that foundation to become effective communicators at school. I take this responsibility very seriously and am committed to each student's success. Happy to be of service for another fantastic school year at Farnsworth!
Wondering how you can help your student at home?
-- If you have a child with unique articulation needs, find out what sound your child is working on at school. Commit 5 minutes a day talking, playing a game, or reading out loud to focus on and practice that sound.
-- If you have a child with unique language learning needs, commit to reading with your child every day and follow up that reading with some questions like "Who is the story about?" and "What happened first, next, last?". This is a great way to help your child develop his/her overall understand and use of language.
