Welcome to Mrs. Tevlin's Class

3 2 1 BLAST OFF

I've been a classroom teacher at Farnsworth for 16 years in a variety of positions.  However, my first love has always been as a classroom teacher.  I've received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education/Psychology from River Falls University, Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning from St. Mary’s University and a second graduate degree in Special Education from St. Thomas.

When not at Farnsworth, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, spending time on/by water and traveling .  I  love the time with my grandchildren, being active, and hanging with my family and friends.  I live in New Richmond, Wisconsin with my husband, relaxing and enjoying life!

I feel very fortunate working at Farnsworth because of the close community of staff, students and families! I teach 3rd and 4th grade, looping.  Looping is defined as a teacher spending two or more years with the same group of classroom students. There is good evidence that looping is very effective with transition years, especially when students go to middle school.  There are some obvious advantages to looping. Students and teachers have established relationships going into the second year. Students know one another well and are connected to the school from day one. The teacher knows their students’ learning styles and personality types well, and have stronger relationships.  Also, the teacher has the opportunity to engage parents and get to know them more deeply over the two-year cycle.

REACHING FOR THE STARS happens each and every day in Team Tevlin's community.  As we are developing into the leaders at Farnsworth Aerospace PreK – 4 campus our students are the pilots that model high expectations for our younger learners.  The standards for behavior and academic growth are high as we reach for the stars!  Come fly with us as we take on the new adventures for this school year!

My greatest joy are the connections I make with my students and witnessing the growth that they make throughout the two-year cycle!

Thank you so much for your help and support! Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time!
