Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelors Degree - Elementary Education (K-8) Minor - Mathematics Masters of Education - Educational Technology
I have been teaching since 2011, and have been in the math department at Farnsworth Aerospace Upper since 2014. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children (Sawyer and Aria), cheering on the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, and enjoying the outdoors. I grew up in Big Lake, MN, and graduated from Saint Cloud State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education, along with a minor in Mathematics. I completed my Masters degree in Educational Technology from Concordia University - St. Paul in 2017. I enjoy working at Farnsworth Aerospace Upper because of all the collaboration that takes place to make sure our students are well educated. I also enjoy working with the many talented and diverse students our school is made of.

Homework: Students and Parents should expect homework assignments almost every day. Most assignments will be on Schoology, however, a paper copy is available for those who request one.
Assessments: Since Farnsworth Aerospace Upper uses standards based grading, students will be allowed to retest on any learning targets they choose, but are required to retest if their score is below a 3. In order to retest, students must have a score of 3 or 4 on all assignments related to that learning target, and must show they have done additional preparation for the retest (options for this will be discussed in class with their math teacher).
Assessment Grading Scale: Grading will be standards-based using a scale from 0 to 4.
4 (A) – Exceeds Proficiency (Performing above grade level)
3 (B) – Proficient (Performing at grade level)
2 (C) – Partially Proficient
1 (D) – Not Proficient
0 (N) – Missing OR Not Observed
**Students are required to redo any assessment with a score below 3 until they achieve proficiency.
Updates: Parents can keep up to date on their student's grades, missing assignments and much more by signing into Schoology with your G#. If you forgot what your G# is, or you are having problems getting into Schoology, stop in the office to get set up with an account! This is the best way to get the most up to date information.
