Hello! Nyob zoo!

My name is Mai Pang Vang or Xib Fwb Maiv Paj and I am one of the Kindergarten Hmong Dual Language teachers. This is my 8th year teaching at Jackson Elementary in the Hmong Dual Language Program and my 9th year teaching overall.

In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, walking/jogging, and spending time with my family and friends.

I am excited about the learning that will take place this year! Please see below for resources to make your child's Kindergarten year a success. Feel free to contact me via email if you have any questions or concerns. Have a great day!

     Area of Study

Unit 2: Exploring Change in My World

This Area of Study focuses on the changes in the student's world. The basic concepts build a basis for later learning. Noticing change is the first step toward understanding the sequence of a cycle through observation and inquiry skills. Exploring Change in My World will focus on the changes students experiecnce personally, in their families, in their schools, and in their community.

  • Nyob Zoo os Parents and Families!

I am Xib Fwb Dib, the student teacher from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with Xib Fwb Maiv Paj this school year. I am currently in the classroom on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays this Fall. I will be in the classroom full-time, every day in Spring. The first two months were full of community building and learning! I enjoy teaching the students alongside Xib Fwb Maiv Paj. It will be a great year and I am in!

  • Kindergarten students went to the apple orchard on Monday, October 22, 2018. We learned about the life cycle of apple trees. We picked apples and pumpkins, went on a hayride, and tried apple cider. We had a great time!
