Degrees and Certifications:
This is my tenth year teaching at J.J. Hill Montessori and my 18th year for SPPS. I started as a substitute teacher for the district and was immediately drawn to the Montessori schools and the curriculum. After teaching for each Montessori level as a longterm substitute I decided to take the training and subsequently was hired by J.J. Hill which was definitely my first choice for a school! I am very happy to be teaching here. My educational background includes a B.A. in English Literature from Macalester College and an M.A. in Education from the University of St. Catherine. I enjoy traveling which I believe enhances my teaching and in fact lived in Southern France for nine months during my senior year in college. Some of my hobbies are cooking, gardening and visiting art museums. In fact whenever I travel my first stop in a new destination is the local art museum. It is my pleasure to follow your child as Maria Montessori would say and help to enlighten their personal learning experience. Education is a very rewarding profession for me. I know it is noble work.
