Ms. Susan Bowman
“The child is both a hope and a promise for mankind” Maria Montessori
Hello and welcome to E1! My name is Susan Bowman.
I began teaching at Nokomis Montessori South in 2012. I attended Wartburg College in Iowa and have a BA in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Spanish. I received my Elementary 1 Certification from the Montessori Teacher Education Center in San Francisco, California. Prior to teaching here, I taught Literacy at Nokomis North, Second Grade at Battle Creek Elementary, and I was a Pre-K Spanish Immersion teacher in the Milwaukee Public Schools.
I live with my husband Brad and our daughter Julia in Woodbury. She plays soccer and basketball and when she is not doing one of those activities she is showing pigs in 4-H. (You might even see her at the State Fair!) We also have a daughter Annabeth who works for Toro, and two sons Andrew who works with Hawkins, and Michael. They are all grown adults and live near us except our son Michael who lives in Arizona and attends Arizona State University. All of us try to get together as often as possible! Our family loves to travel and explore together. We also enjoy hiking and love the National Parks!
Teaching has always brought great joy to me. I feel it is a gift to have a classroom of children who are ready, eager, and excited to learn about the world around them. I’m passionate about Montessori education as I feel it helps children to grow academically, emotionally, and socially.Thank you for entrusting me with your child. Nokomis South is a learning environment that provides strong academics in a setting which is both peaceful and engaging.
Please feel free to contact me at any time.
