Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Pertzsch

Hi! My name is Barb Pertzsch. I have been teaching elementary school for 34 years, the past 26 of them being in kindergarten. I have a husband, three grown children and a lively little puppy. I also have been "mom" to an International student from Pakistan for over 6 years. In my spare time I enjoy spending time at our family cabin, going hiking and biking, reading and scrapbooking. I love children and want all of the children to feel welcomed and treasured every day at school.

Our class is fortunate to have Ms. Yer as our full-time classroom aide. This is her fifth year as our classroom aide although she has been working at SPMA for seven years.

The kindergartners will be bringing home a blue homework folder every day. Each Monday they will bring home two or three worksheets. These activities reinforce concepts we have been learning at school. Those sheets need to be completed and can be returned any time during the week. In the folder there will also be a book that your child can "read" to you. After reading the book your child should draw a picture of something they saw in the book on the accompanying reading log sheet. The book and reading log need to be returned everyday so that your child can choose a new book each day. This ensures that your child has daily reading practice at home with a book of their choice.
