Our small school has a big heart. We are a "family". Nestled in a quiet East Side neighborhood, Eastern Heights Elementary celebrates inclusion of the rich cultural diversity of our students and their families each day. Teachers here know there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to education, so we focus on Restorative Practices, Culturally Relevant Teaching, and Integrating Technology into our academic instruction to Personalize Learning for each child. We're here WITH YOU!
At Eastern Heights each person has gifts and talents, is peaceful and kind and is here to learn! We are a Restorative Community at school, at home and in our community. We have school-wide Restorative Practices as we support our community of learners small and tall, through building strong relationships, responding to challenges with Restorative Impulse, Trauma Sensitive Practices, PBIS, and developing our Social Emotional Competencies.
Wellness Community of Practice Circles for Families, Staff and Community - Join us in circle as we explore our relationship with wellness, self-care, community challenges and trauma. We will gather two Wednesdays per month between 4:30-5:30 and share a light meal and an activity tied to our Content. At 5:30 we will convene in circle to share and learn together. Childcare will be available(provided by JROTC) and activities with The Youth Yoga Collective- children will also have a light pizza meal robin.king@spps.org, 651-744-6655
