Welcome to the Equity Department! Our team's mission is to grow capacity to interrupt systems of marginalization to support student learning and development. Our vision is that all SPPS staff are racial equity leaders in partnership with students, families, and the community.

Racial Equity Policy
With 79% of our students identifying as students of color, the Racial Equity Policy is foundational to our work in Saint Paul Public Schools. It confronts the institutional racism that results in predictably lower academic achievement for students of color than for their white peers.
Gender Inclusion Policy
The Gender Inclusion Policy helps to ensure a safe and welcoming school environment for our gender expansive students, namely our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirit, queer and questioning (LGBTQ+) students.
